Past Events

Regional Forums - Between April and June this year, the Charities Commission held 12 regional forums for charities.

Thank you to all those people who took the time to come, listen and engage with the Commission. We received some very good feedback which will help us continue to develop our support for charities and the public, especially from an educational perspective.

During the forums we profiled websites that provide helpful information about payroll giving, non-financial reporting and agencies and projects associated with the charitable sector.

Educational material available on DVD

As part of our Annual Forum in late 2009, the Commission held a forum looking at ‘The qualities of an effective charity’.

Keynote speaker, accountant Craig Fisher, spoke about the need for charities to be accountable and transparent, and a panel discussion was held to address the topic "An effective charity is clear about its purposes and direction."

An excerpt from the forum is available on our Qualities of an Effective Charity page and all presentations from all four speakers are available on an educational DVD for $20 (includes GST and post and packaging).
