The Commission is a crown entity, with an independent board.
Chief Executive Trevor Garrett has six direct reports:

- Registration and Contracts Manager - Chris Winstanley
- Senior Policy Advisor - Adrian Shields
- Legal Counsel - Liz Fellows
- Corporate Services Manager - Barry Hayman
- Board Secretary and Corporate Advisor - Jane Chilcott
