Christchurch workshops - 30 October 2007

25 October 2007

Community Law Canterbury, together with the Charities Commission, are running two free workshops about registration with the Charities Commission on Tuesday 30 October.

Carol Cunningham from the Commission will be there to answer any questions you have about registration, and registration forms will be available on the day.

Workshop 1 (10.30am-12.30pm) is ideal if you would like to know more about the Commission, and how it will affect your charity.

Workshop 2 (2pm-4pm) will suit you if you have already registered your charity with the Commission, and you want to know what happens now that you’ve registered. This training will focus on the future obligations your charity will have, and what you need to know for the future.
The forum is a chance for you to ask any questions you may have, including:

  • all you need to know about doing your annual returns
  • what will happen if a complaint is made about your charity
  • what you should do if you change the rules of your charity
  • what will happen if one of your trustees/Board members is disqualified

Bookings are essential as numbers are limited. Community Law Canterbury reserves the right to refuse entry to groups who have not registered in advance.

Bookings can be made by phoning Jeanne on 371 3801 or by emailing jeanne@canlaw.org.nz.
