Accounting standards framework
The External Reporting Board (XRB) is an independent Crown Entity responsible for the development and issuing of accounting and auditing and assurance standards in New Zealand.
It has recently released proposals for new standardised accounting frameworks for a range of organisations, including charities.
The proposals mean that (during the next two to three years) charities are likely to need to make changes to the way in which your financial statements are presented.
The XRB has run a series of seminars throughout the country, explaining who they are, and the proposals.
On their website, you can see their:
Seminar slides
The powerpoint slides from the presentations given at the XRB seminars in Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington and Christchurch over the last couple of weeks are available here.
Please feel free to share these with your colleagues as you see fit.
Podcast
Three podcasts on the accounting standards framework are now available for download and/or listening to. These can be found here.
These podcasts summarise the material that was covered in the seminars. You may like to view the relevant seminar slides as you listen to the podcasts.
