Tips for logging in to your account
Your username
Your username depends on whether your charity is registered.
- If your charity is registered
Your username is your charity registration number (CC number).
- If your entity is not registered yet
Your username is your reference number. You can find this in the email we sent you when you created your account.
Make sure your username does not contain spaces between letters and numbers (e.g. CC12345), or at the end of your username.
Forgotten your password?
If you have forgotten your password, the primary contact for your charity can reset it.
To reset your password:
- On the login page, click on ‘Forgotten your password?’.
- Enter your CC number or reference number, then click Submit.
- An email will be sent to the primary contact for your charity. The email subject line will be “Reset Password for Charities Services”.
- Click the link in the email to reset your password. If the link does not work, copy and paste it into your browser’s address bar.
If your primary contact has changed
If the primary contact for your charity is no longer involved, you will need to update your contact details before you can reset a password or log in.
To do this, complete an Update Details form and email it to Charities Services so we can process the change.
Troubleshooting login issues
If you are having trouble logging in, check the following:
- Your username is correct. This must be your CC number or reference number only, with no spaces.
- Your password does not contain any spaces.
- You are using a modern browser such as Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome. The Charities Services website does not work with Internet Explorer.
- Clear your browser history and cookies for ‘all time’, then manually type your username and password again.
- If you are using a mobile device, try logging in on a desktop or laptop. Mobile phones can add spaces when entering or resetting passwords.
- If you have tried to log in too many times, your account may be locked. You can unlock it by resetting your password.
