The Minister for the Community and Voluntary Sector has made a number of appointments to Te Rāta Atawhai, the Charities Registration Board (the Board), effective from 27 September 2021.

Gwen Keel has been appointed to Chair the Board for the remainder of her current term of membership. Dr Bev Gatenby has been reappointed as a Board member for a further three-year term, and Loretta Lovell has been appointed as a Board member for a three-year term.

Charities Services welcome these appointments and we look forward to working with the newly constituted Board.

Te Rāta Atawhai, the Charities Registration Board, is an independent three-person statutory body which makes decisions about registering or deregistering charities. It was established in 2012 and replaced the former Charities Commission. It operates under the Charites Act 2005, and is not subject to direction by Ministers.
