  • Charities Services can no longer accept cheques

    As of 1 June 2021, Charities Services can no longer accept cheques as payment for annual return fees. We have made this change as a result of banks across Aotearoa phasing out the use of cheques.

    Charities will be able to pay their annual return fees online by internet banking. Simple instructions on how to pay online are on our website.

  • New Zealand Charity Reporting Awards 2021 winners announced

    The winners and highly commended in the 2021 New Zealand Charity Reporting Awards have been announced.

    One of Charities Services’ functions, under the Charities Act 2005, is to promote research relating to charities.

    Research into the charitable sector helps the public understand the work that charities do. This makes the sector more transparent, which contributes to increased public trust and confidence in charities. Research can also highlight challenges and opportunities in the charitable sector, and can inform public policy decisions that impact on charities.
